Skins of fire, mineral memories.

Skins of Fire, Archaic Memory; Born from the earth and the burning, my sculptures in black or red sandstone carry within them an archaic memory. Their surface stretches, cracks, fragments, like living skin subject to cycles, tensions, and metamorphoses.
The cracks trace organic maps, evoking in turn the scales of a reptile, the weave of ancient leather, or the skin of a fish dried by time.

An uncertain boundary between the mineral and the living is thus established, unsettling.
Each piece seems to have molted. As if it had undergone a slow, almost painful transformation to become something else: sensitive rock, protective shell, vestige of a vanished body...
