During this 5-day training, trainees will be able to shape white sandstone, red sandstone and earth collected in situ.
This course will take place from 4 to 8 to November 2024 at the Calvi workshop: Les Remparts Rue Alsace Lorraine 20260.
This week of training is aimed at beginners or initiates motivated by a taste for discovering wild clay. These 5 days will focus on the different shaping methods. We will also discuss the different types of land and their uses other than for shaping.
Mixed lands.
Local lands called "indigenous".
The different low and high temperature cooking methods and the resistance of native soils.
The differences and the imperatives to remember between the production of utilitarian objects for food purposes and those purely artistic or decorative.
The work will be done in the workshop. One day will be devoted to collecting clay from the field.
After the pieces have dried, a biscuit firing is planned, each participant will be invited to collect their creations at the workshop.
